
Pallavi Joshi
Pallavi is a Research Associate at ICRIER, and is currently involved in governance and regulatory aspects of healthcare sector and pharmaceutical industry under the Health Policy Initiative (HPI). As a part of HPI’s research program on ‘Tackling Chronic Diseases in India’ and ‘Drug Regulatory Reforms in India’, she has co-authored working papers and policy briefs titled ‘Prevention of Chronic Diseases: Reorienting Primary Health Systems in India’ and ‘Administrative Structure and Functions of Drug Regulatory Authorities in India’. Her current policy research in ICRIER include exploring the opportunities for India vis-à-vis the ongoing international cooperation on registration of drugs.
Her past experience includes working with mergers and acquisition division of Competition Commission of India, where she was involved in analysing the competition issues in various sectors, particularly healthcare sector and pharmaceutical industry. She has also worked with Standard & Poor’s Capital IQ, a business research firm. She has a Masters degree in Economics, with a specialization in Development Economics and Health Economics from Ambedkar University, New Delhi. Her core areas of interest include development economics, health economics, pharmaceutical regulation, behavioral economics and competition law.
